An HVAC company in Portland posts their profile with their company name and tagline. A customer in Portland searches for 'air conditioning repair.' Google doesn't connect them, because the profile says 'Smith's Cooling Solutions: Your Comfort Matters' instead of the words the customer actually typed.
We changed how titles and descriptions work on NPCLocal. They now match what people actually search for. A plumber's profile includes the town name and what they fix, not marketing copy. The description shows hours, the area they serve, and whether they're licensed and insured. Google looks for these exact things when deciding who to show first.
The change is invisible unless you search. But if you're looking for help in the Coastal Bend, you'll find real local pros faster. If you're a pro, your profile works harder for you without any extra work.
