New smart home guide answers real questions.
app or remote. WiFi or Bluetooth. what if your internet goes down.

We're building a guide about smart home controls because we keep seeing the same questions from people shopping for systems. Most guides assume you already know the difference between controlling something from your phone versus using a remote, or why losing internet kills some systems but not others.
The guide starts with what people ask first: can you control it from your phone when you're away, or do you need a remote. Then it covers WiFi versus Bluetooth, what happens when your internet goes down, voice assistant support, and why some systems work on your device while others need internet.
We also added smart home sections to other pages and five new answers to common questions. The whole thing is written for someone who's never set up a smart home before, not for someone who already knows the jargon.
