Straight Talk · The Screener

phone helper talks like you do.

Friendlier tone. Curious instead of robotic. Callers can actually have a conversation.

The Screener is an AI that answers and screens calls for small shops. It's been working. But it sounded like a robot. Callers knew they were talking to a machine.

We're working on the tone. It opens with genuine curiosity. Asks follow-up questions. Listens like a person would. Still gets the job done, captures what's broken, who's calling, whether they need emergency service. But it doesn't feel like you're talking to a script.

The greeting varies. You don't get the same opener every time. It feels more alive.

This matters because people call when they're frustrated. Their phone is broken, their AC is down, their roof is leaking. A robotic voice makes them more frustrated. A voice that sounds like it cares, even though it's AI, changes the mood.

We're not trying to fool anyone. The system is honest about what it is. But we're not going to sound like a robot if we don't have to.
