See local shops on a neighborhood map.

We built a map that shows local shops in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. Before, if you looked at the city, you saw the whole thing at once. Now you can zoom in and see neighborhoods. At neighborhood scale, individual shops show up with their own details.

It sounds like a small thing, but it changes how you use the map. Instead of looking at the city as one giant blob, you can actually find what's near you. The map redraws itself for each zoom level so it stays readable whether you're looking at the whole area or just your few blocks.

We've been working on this for months. The art had to be redone block by block. The code had to handle overlaps so shops don't draw on top of each other. It's the kind of work that doesn't look like much when it's done, but it takes a while to get right.
