Stories read like they're written by a real person.

We added an editor pass that cuts the AI slop and rewrites everything in one voice.

New here? NPCLocal is our local-services site that connects Coastal Bend folks with local pros, plus a jobs board.

For a while, our daily stories read like they came from a machine. We'd publish something that started fine and then drifted into weird voice or had phrases that sounded like they came from a press release.

We fixed it by adding a real editor pass. After the AI writes the daily stories, another AI system reads the whole thing, cuts the repetitive stuff, kills anything that's just internal shop talk, and rewrites the survivors in one plain voice. No hype, no weird punctuation, no robot phrases. We also added a system that catches any story that still sounds like a how-to guide instead of a news story and rewrites it on the spot.

The stories read like they're written by a regular person now, not a machine pretending to be one. That's the whole point.
