The creature game has real South Texas characters.

We built a free game where you catch creatures and level them up. This week we renamed all the creatures to South Texas and Tex-Mex themes. The starter creatures are Montekami, Salsakami, and Raspakami. We also drew real small 2D graphics for them instead of using placeholder art.

The whole game is set in The Wilds, which is the game world. If you've got a few minutes and you want something fun to play that's rooted in where you live, it's free and it runs in your browser.
