We changed how we rank contractors on our site. The ones who get real phone calls move to the top. If you search for a roofer in Corpus Christi, the ones people are actually calling show up first. We check every month to see who's getting calls and adjust the list.
This keeps bad actors down. A contractor who stuffs their page with keywords but nobody calls will drop. The ones doing real work for real people stay visible.
