You see an offer. It says you'll make a certain amount. You take the job. That number stays the same, no matter what happens. The base pay is guaranteed. The speed bonus, if there is one, is guaranteed. The total you see is what you get.
This is how it should work. You make a business decision based on real numbers, not a guess. If the job takes longer than the customer thought, that's not your problem. You still get paid what was promised.
The offer shows the breakdown so you know exactly what's base and what's bonus. It's transparent, and it's locked.
