job board flags bad jobs.

We're testing a classifier on job postings. Keeps obvious spam out of your feed.

A desert landscape with windmill, cactus, trees, and a sun setting on the horizon.

If you've ever scrolled a job board and seen something that smells wrong, too good to be true, weird phrasing, asking for money upfront, you know the feeling. You waste time reading it, then realize it's a scam.

We're working on a scam classifier for the NPCLocal jobs board. It's designed to catch the obvious ones: fake work-from-home gigs, money-flip schemes, anything asking you to pay to apply.

The classifier isn't perfect. It'll miss some. But it's meant to block the low-hanging fruit and keep your feed cleaner. You spend less time filtering noise.

We also built a /jobs/safety hub, one page that explains what to watch for and how we're thinking about this. No hype. Just straight talk about what makes a posting risky.

This is real work. Scams cost people time and sometimes money. A classifier doesn't solve it, but it raises the bar.
