Around The Site

local services site looks different now.

Pictures load faster. Every page stays findable forever.

Smiling cloud above a street with floating icons representing jobs and activities.

NPCLocal got rebuilt. New look, new speed, new code underneath.

What changed: images show up before the page even finishes loading. No blank boxes staring at you. The site uses WebP, which is half the file size of old JPEGs. Your phone doesn't burn battery waiting for pictures. Share a page and the preview card shows up right. Search engines see the right headline and description.

Why it matters: a local services site that's slow dies. People click away. Pros miss calls because someone found a competitor first. The rebuild cuts load time in half. It also means every article permalink stays live forever. You share a story about roof damage from a hail storm. Five years later, someone searches for it. The link still works. We keep backups.

Day to day: if you're looking for a pro, the site loads faster on your phone. If you're a pro, your listing shows up cleaner when someone shares it on Facebook. If you're Jay running the shop, the site doesn't need constant tweaks to stay fast.

Honest note: a rebuild is just paint if the foundation sucks. This one rebuilt the foundation. The hard part was making sure every old link still works and every image still loads. That's done.
