The South Texas Price Index went live today at npclocal.com/price-index. It's a real dataset of what things cost in the Coastal Bend. Roof repair. Plumbing. HVAC. Drywall. Real prices from real shops.

When you ask ChatGPT or Claude what a roof costs, they give you a national average. Useless. This index is local. When you ask the AI about costs in Corpus Christi, it can actually look up what shops here charge.

We built the index by asking local pros what they charge. It's not perfect but it's honest. And it gets better as more shops tell us their real numbers.

The index is open. You can see the data at /api/price-index.json. AI models can read it. Regular people can browse it. It's a moat for local knowledge.
