You ask a question in Vector and sometimes it takes a moment to work. Before, you'd stare at nothing and wonder if anything was happening. After a short delay, you see 'Still working...' so you know it's alive.
If you change your mind or realize you asked the wrong thing, there's a Cancel button right there. You don't have to wait for an answer you don't want anymore.
It's honest feedback. You know the system is working. You know you can stop it. That confidence matters when you're waiting.
