If you've used video tools before, you know the flow: record, upload, wait for compression. We built the same thing into our video app. When you upload a video, it shrinks down on the way up instead of storing the full file and shrinking it later. Faster, smaller, done.
The uploads also route to the nearest server, so if you're on a phone in Alice or on the island, you're not sending the whole file across the country. It goes to the closest server and shrinks from there. Stalls are gone.
It's one of those things that sounds small but makes the whole app feel snappier.
