NPCLocal rebuilt how repair techs get work, get paid, and stay informed this week
New here? NPCLocal is our local-services site that connects Coastal Bend folks with local pros, plus a jobs board.

When a tech accepts a job through NPCLocal, the pay is locked. The shop owner cannot cut the rate on a job already taken. If the owner adjusts rates going forward, the change sits for seven days before it takes effect, and the tech sees every line-item difference before agreeing to new terms.
The job offer itself got a full rework. The total a tech earns leads the screen, with the breakdown underneath it, and any speed bonus appears as a bonus rather than folded into a number that does not explain itself. Neither party sees the other's phone number. A code handles meetup coordination, and the tech sets the time from his own device. Job alerts reach techs the way each one prefers, whether that is a call, an email, or a text. A missed call triggers a retry, and the claim code is read slowly, one digit at a time, twice. The clock does not release a job until the tech confirms receipt. The owner dashboard now leads with who is available and what jobs are on deck across the full week, with a notification thirty minutes before any tech-customer meetup. Several bugs were also resolved: phone routing was broken and is fixed, the reschedule system was not talking to the ticket system so the same hour could get double-booked, rush jobs were going to techs who do not do rush work, and a tech could set a meetup time that conflicted with his own stated availability. All four are corrected.
