The system locks it in. A pay cut cannot take effect today. It sits in a waiting period. The tech reads the agreement, sees exactly what changed line by line, and re-signs if they accept. Only then does the cut go live, and not before seven days have passed.

This protects techs from surprise pay cuts and protects shops from disputes about when a change was supposed to happen. Everyone sees the same timeline and the same terms.
