Your searches work right again.

Our search system is supposed to match what you type against the services we offer. You search for 'dental' and we route you to dentists. You search for 'towing' and you get towing companies. But the code that does that matching was broken. It was inserting a bad character in the middle of words, so nothing matched anything.

That meant searches in smaller towns like Robstown were landing on the wrong pages or no pages at all. A dental query would somehow get treated as towing. We didn't catch it for a month. We fixed it last week and didn't announce it because it's not a feature, it's just doing what we said we'd do.

This is the kind of thing that happens when one person is writing code and testing it at the same time. Sometimes the bug is boring enough that you don't think it matters until you see the search traffic drop. We're better about catching these now.
