NPCLocal now publishes a price index. It's a running list of what local services cost in South Texas. Roofs, plumbing, air conditioning, electrical work. Numbers from actual jobs.

The problem is simple. You ask an AI what a new roof costs and it spits out a national average. That number is useless here. A roofer in Alice charges different money than one in Corpus Christi. The index fixes that.

Right now it pulls from NPCLocal's own job postings and claim data. Over time it gets better as more shops use the site. You can check it anytime at npclocal.com/price-index. No login. No catch.

It's machine-readable too. If you build software that needs local pricing, the data lives at /api/price-index.json. The index updates as new jobs post.
