Community & Content Guidelines

Last updated: June 26, 2026. Operated by North Point Computers, Alice, TX (since 2000).

The short version: Anyone can post a job or list a business on NPCLocal. To keep it useful and safe, posts must be honest, lawful, and fair. Content that breaks these rules can be removed.

What this covers

Some content on NPCLocal is submitted by users: job posts on the Hire a Pro board, and business listings and slot claims by service pros. These guidelines are the rules for that content. They work together with our Terms of Service.

Be honest and accurate

Post real businesses and real jobs. Use a name, contact method, and details that are true and current.

Do not post fake leads, fake reviews, or made-up demand. Do not try to game the routing or the boards.

Follow the law and treat people fairly

Everything you post must be lawful. For job posts, hiring must follow equal-opportunity law. Do not discriminate by age, sex, disability, race, national origin, religion, or any other protected class.

Do not ask job seekers for application fees, payments, or sensitive personal information (like a Social Security number) through a post. Job seekers never pay NPCLocal to view or reply to a post.

Only post what is yours

Claim only a business you own or are allowed to represent. Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not claim another company's name, brand, or work as your own.

Not allowed

Scams, fraud, or anything that tries to trick people out of money or information.

Hateful, harassing, violent, adult, or otherwise illegal content.

Spam, repeated duplicate posts, or off-topic content.

Anything that breaks our Terms of Service or another person's rights.

We can edit or remove content

We may review, edit for formatting, remove, or refuse any post, listing, or slot at our discretion, especially content that is reported, looks like a scam, or breaks these rules. We may also pause or end a pro's listing or slot for repeated or serious violations.

We publish, we do not verify everything

We are a passive publisher. We run posts in the poster's own words and do not check that every claim is true. If you are hiring a pro, always confirm their license, insurance, and reviews first. If you are replying to a job, remember the exchange is directly with the employer, not with us.
