Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026. Operated by North Point Computers, Alice, TX (since 2000).
The short version: NPCLocal connects you with local pros. We collect what we need to do that, like your name and phone number. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What we collect
When you send our lead form, we collect the name, phone number, and any optional fields you fill in (email, ZIP, and a short description of what you need). We also save the page you sent it from, the time, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to stop spam and abuse.
When you call one of our published phone numbers, the call goes through a tracked line that records the audio so we can follow up and check service quality. We capture the calling number, the time, how long the call lasted, and the recording.
If you are a service pro, you can sign in with a one-time link we email you. There is no password. We keep your email and a short sign-in session so you can see your dashboard.
When an employer posts a job, we keep only what the employer types in (see the Job board section below). We do not collect anything about job seekers.
Why we collect it
To answer your request and connect you with a local service provider in the Coastal Bend.
To show the providers who pay for a routing slot how many real calls and leads their category and city get.
To improve our coverage, how fast we respond, and how we route calls and forms.
Companies that help run the site
A few trusted services help us run NPCLocal. They only handle what they need to do their job: Stripe for payments (see Payments below), an email provider for notifications and the pro sign-in link, OpenWeather for the local weather on our homepage, and Cloudflare for security and to help block spam.
These companies process data for us under their own terms. We do not let them use your information for their own advertising.
Payments
Pros and employers who pay a fee check out through Stripe. Stripe handles the card details. We never see or store full card numbers.
How long we keep it
Lead form submissions are kept during the active follow-up window (usually 90 days), then only aggregate counts remain.
Call recordings are kept for 90 days for review, then deleted.
Aggregate, non-identifying counts (calls per category, per city, per month) may be kept for as long as we need them for operations and reporting.
Your rights and choices
Texas residents and people in other states have rights over their personal data, like the right to see it, fix it, or delete it. We explain those rights and how to use them on our Data Rights page.
You can ask us to delete your lead record or call recording at any time. Email admin@northpointcomputers.com with the subject "Privacy Request" and the phone number you used.
You can tell a routed provider to stop contacting you during the call, or reply STOP to any message.
You can leave the optional form fields blank. We need the required fields (name, phone, urgency, and a short description) to send a provider. Without them we cannot respond.
Security
We use normal, up-to-date security, including HTTPS so your connection is encrypted. We store lead data in files that are not public, and we limit who can reach them. No website can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children
NPCLocal is for adults looking for local services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email admin@northpointcomputers.com and we will delete it.
Other websites we link to
We link to other websites, like our sister tools and the providers we route to. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
Job board
When an employer posts a job, we store only what the employer sends: the post text (word for word, unedited), the city, the optional category and pay range, the contact method they chose, the employer name, and the billing email used to pay the posting fee. We store a one-way hash of the poster's IP to stop abuse.
We do NOT collect or store anything about job seekers. There are no applicant accounts, resumes, Social Security numbers, or applications on NPCLocal. When you reply to a job, you contact the employer directly through the method they listed. That exchange does not pass through us.
Reported posts are reviewed and may be removed. The posting fee is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see full card numbers.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top shows the last meaningful change. Big changes will be summarized at the top of this page.
