Your Data Rights

Last updated: June 26, 2026. Operated by North Point Computers, Alice, TX (since 2000).

The short version: You can ask to see, fix, or delete the personal data we have about you. We do not sell your data or use it for targeted ads. Here is how to make a request and what to expect.

Your rights

If you live in Texas, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you rights over your personal data. People in some other states (like California, Colorado, and Virginia) have similar rights. We handle every request the same way.

You can ask us to: tell you whether we have your personal data and let you see it; fix data that is wrong; delete your data; and give you a copy of it in a portable form.

You can also opt out of the sale of your personal data, of targeted advertising, and of certain profiling. See the next section for why those usually do not apply to us.

We do not sell your data or run targeted ads

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. We do not use it for profiling that has legal or similar major effects on you.

Because we do not do those things, there is usually nothing to opt out of. You can still send a request to confirm this, and we will answer.

How to make a request

Email admin@northpointcomputers.com with the subject "Data Request." Tell us what you want (see, fix, delete, or get a copy) and include the phone number or email you used with us so we can find your record.

Requests are free. We may charge a reasonable fee only if a request is clearly excessive or repetitive, and we will tell you first.

How we check it is really you

To protect your data, we need to be reasonably sure the request comes from you. We may ask you to confirm details that match what we already have, like the phone number you used. If we cannot verify you, we may not be able to act on the request, and we will tell you why.

How fast we answer

We will answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we may take one more 45-day period, and we will tell you before we do.

If we say no, you can appeal

If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer or emailing admin@northpointcomputers.com with "Appeal" in the subject. We will review it and tell you the result and our reasons.

If you are still not satisfied, Texas residents can contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

Someone acting for you

You can let someone make a request for you (an authorized agent). We may ask for proof that you gave them permission, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity.
